Brain and Brawn Birth
Informed and Empowered

The birth of a passion
My background is in nutrition, dietetics and nutrition research in mothers and children…not a typical route to the birth world! What is more typical for me and likely will be for you is that the experience of birthing transformed me. My own four birth experiences varied widely, starting with surgical and then non-surgical but medicated hospital births and culminating in home birth. When it comes to pregnancy, labor, and birth, I’ve realized that the more informed a mama is the more confident she will be in the immense power of her body to grow and birth new life. My role as a birth doula is to walk the journey with you, providing information during pregnancy, preparing you for labor, and then supporting you physically, emotionally, and informationally as you prepare to give birth. I'll be your biggest cheerleader reminding you just how much power you have within you to help your baby find his/her way into the world calmly and comfortably. I want your birth to be the best experience it can be, and it's my role to protect what will become one of your most precious memories. Raise a glass to knowledge and power, because you've got both brain and brawn when it comes to birthing your baby!
